My statement of faith.

... and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear:
(1 Peter 3:15)

When you come to the edge
Of all light you have known
And are about to step off into the darkness
Faith is knowing there'll be something to stand on,
Or you will be taught how to fly.

I am a Christian, but I don't go along with, "In your face", Christianity. I am however prepared to talk about my faith by email - all you have to do is ask. My email address is at the bottom of this page.

Of course, if you'd rather look up some links on the Web about Christianity, I can recommend the Gospel Communications Network as a good starting place.

As well as being a Christian, I am also a Reiki practitioner. For those of you who don't know what Reiki is, may I direct you elsewhere, to http://www.reiki.org/FAQ/WhatIsReiki.html. This site describes Reiki far better than I ever could.
For those who do know about Reiki, I am attuned to Reiki master level.
If you're still interested, and would like to receive a treatment, please feel free to email me - my email address is at the bottom of this page.

Personal details.

Below are a few details, both personal and more general. Others have described things much better than I ever could, so there are liberal links to other web sites in there as well. One thing I do not believe in is re-inventing the wheel (or anything else for that matter).

Date of birth : 17th February 1954.

(That was ago.)

Place of birth : Edinburgh, Scotland.
Occupation : Senior Systems Engineer.
Work History : Here's my C.V.(in pdf format)
Favourite Literature: I love science fiction and fantasy, but my favourite books simply have to be the Discworld series by Terry Pratchett!
Hobbies : Motor Rallying, Amateur Radio, Photography and Hillwalking.

Although I was born in Edinburgh, I was brought up in the Scottish Borders, in Berwickshire, and have always enjoyed the wide open spaces. Unfortunately, due to an unforseen change of employment, I am now living in Kingston upon Hull (of all places) - well, they do say home is where the heart is, and mine is still in my chest! (Or it was last time I looked.)

Scotland (& haggis in particular).

Some years ago, in order to share the folklore of Scotland with others,I wrote the (in)famous Haggis stories.
These were at one time kept on http://www.electricscotland.com/haggis/index.html, but because of problems in updating them, I decided to move them to my own pages.

Wolfstone.

Some people may ask "Who (or what) is Wolfstone?".
Well,Wolfstone are, in my opinion the most sensational band ever to have hit the music scene.
They are unique in combining a blend of traditional Scottish melodies with the energy and power of the best rock bands.

Who are Wolfstone?
Duncan Chisholm . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Electric Fiddle
Stuart Eaglesham . . . . . Acoustic & Electric Guitars
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . and Vocals
Wayne MacKenzie . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Bass
Stevie Saint . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Pipes & Whistles
Andy Sovay . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Drums

To date, the band have had eight albums released:
1991: Unleashed (Green Linnet - US; Iona elsewhere)
1992: The Chase (Green Linnet - US; Iona elsewhere)
1994: Year of the Dog (Green Linnet)
1996: Half Tail (Green Linnet)
1997: Pick of the Litter: The Best of Wolfstone 1991-1996 (Green Linnet)
1998: This Strange Place (Green Linnet)
1999: Seven (Green Linnet)
2000: Not Enough Shouting - Live album (Once Bitten Records)
2002: Almost an Island
In addition, they have had a CD single released "Burning Horizons", and a video "Captured Alive".

Other bands I think well worth a listen are: Wishbone Ash,
Yes,
Man,
The Orchestra (formerly ELO II),
Barclay James Harvest,
Runrig,
The Moody Blues and
Mostly Autumn to name but a few.

Toys.

Some of my toys!

Rallying.

As some of you might have noticed, one of my hobbies is motor rallying - although I seldom compete these days, I have in the past navigated, driven and marshalled. These days, as an RACMSA Radio Controller, I spend most of my time sitting in a nice dry car, co-ordinating safety coverage (often from the top of a hill, or somewhere equally as obscure), so I don't see as much of the action as I'd sometimes like to. To get around this problem, from time to time, I visit the World Rally Championship pages, as well as The British Special Stage Rally Championships pages.

Recorded for posterity (and a few years old now), here are a few pictures of "yours truly!"

Sorry, your browser doesn't support Java(tm).

Psion logo I own two Psion IIs and now a Series 5 and a 5mx as well - this is a link to my Psion stuff.
