I now own a Psion Series 5mx, (after having had a Series 5 for two years) and for many years prior to that, I've had a couple of Series IIs. One day, I was surprised to find someone else interested in a program I had written for my '5, and I thought if one person is interested, then perhaps several others may be too. Some of the stuff here has even been "migrated" from programs I had on the Organiser II!
FIBRE
This program will calculate the maximum permissible loss over a length of multimode (or singlemode) fibre, assuming an 850nm (option for 1300mn or 1550nm) laser source. If your light meter readings indicate higher than this figure, you have a problem.
DECNET
This program will give you DEC MAC address from a DECnet address entered in the area>.<address> format - remember this is NOT a decimal number, therefore the address must be
entered in 4 digit format - i.e. 49.520 (wrong) is not the same as 49.0520 (correct).
This program will also convert the last four bytes of the DEC MAC address, returning the DECnet address.
IP Subnet Calculator. A subnet calculator for the Series 5, Series 5mx and the Revo (thanks to Waldo Peijster for testing the Revo for me). Version 3.0 was put up here on 15th November 2001, and is currently in "beta" - it's now event driven, and is now able to calculate subnet masks for a given number of hosts (up to 260,000). This version has not yet been tested on the Revo, and I know there are a few issues with the help files as well. If anyone wants to volunteer to test this, I'd appreciate it.
Please let me know if any of this stuff is useful to you!

Tracker.
One of my hobbies is motorsport - specifically rallying. These days, I can mostly be found sitting in a warm (?) dry car nursing a radio. One of the things we radio operators do is to track cars through the stages, and report in the event one goes missing.
Often, by the time I've recorded the car number and time on my checksheet, I haven't really had time to actually "see" the car, so I developed Tracker - a Psion series 5 version of a checklist. Recently, I upgraded it to be event driven, and although it's still full of "features", it basically works, so here it is for anyone who wants it. If you are using it, please let me know what you think, and any suggested improvements!
OSGB - L/L converter.
This program will allow you to convert between OSGB grid references and Latitude / Longitude. I'd like to take this opportunity to thank Mark Crossley for the maths and the source code from the Series 3, and Kevin Millicam for suggesting improvements.
My PC Software!
Once upon a time, I was sitting with waayy too much time on my hands, so I decided to play with
Microsoft Excel (as you do). The result of this playing was this
Lottery Results Checking program. I gifted it to our syndicate at work who were full of praise about it. So much so, I decided to see if it could make me some badly needed money.
It's written for Excel 2000, but who knows - it might just run under previous versions as well - I didn't have any previous versions to test it out with!
For anyone using this software, there are four versions.
Single user version (up to three lines) - 1% of that big win you get!
Small syndicate version (up to 10 lines) - £5
Medium syndicate version (up to 25 lines) - £10
Large syndicate version (up to 100 lines) - £25
If you require more, it can be arranged - email john@wilsonjo.demon.co.uk for details.
